Rest In Peace Abby-
I am sad to say that my parents lost their dog Abby Friday evening. She had not been feeling well and they had been running all kinds of tests. Friday morning they got the call she had cancer. My parents were both devastated. Within hours of hearing the news, Abby became weaker and weaker. Although the vet had predicted that she had about a year to live, it was not in the cards for little Abby Roo. She crossed the rainbow bridge that night. Their vet and friend Dr. Fish came to our house and put her to sleep. She was surrounded by her whole family. There are no words to describe the heartache I feel for my parents. Now that Kim and I are out of the house, Abby and Kasey are their companions. She was an adorable, loving dog. She and Kasey cracked me up bringing out at least 50 toys at a time…anyone that has been there knows that I am not exaggerating! Ever since my Bayleigh Longlegs died I have believed that dogs are angels. They watch over us. They make us feel better when we are down and with one wag of a tail, they let us know that we are important and loved. Abby only had 5 years here on earth, but I know she is with Apollo, Maggie, Punkin, Max, Marty, Bayleigh, and Eddie giving us memories that will last with us forever.
My Colorado Trip
Well I just returned from a week visit at my parents house. As you can see from the above entry, the visit got off to a rocky start. Although Another snag in the trip came Saturday night. Just after we visited Granny and returned home, the nursing home called us and said she had a 103 temp. My mom and I drove back down there and eventually the transferred her to ER. We stayed pretty late letting them run tests. Turns out she has pneumonia. They admitted her to hospital and had to do blood transfusions. I spent much time there spending time with her. She was released yesterday evening and seems to be doing better. I can’t tell you though how my heart hurts every time I have to say goodbye. I always fear it could be the last time I see my precious Granny. I love her so much and treasure every second I have with her.
My mom and dad were coping with the loss of Abby and Granny’s illness, we did have a good visit. Kim picked me up at the airport and we went right over to 24 Hour Fitness and worked out. Then headed to Estes for a dedication of a new cross for my dad’s building. As you know Friday was a terrible day. Sunday was a great day though. My dad has raised millions of dollars for a new Center/Chapel. The building is absolutely beautiful. The chapel area is so lovely and there are rooms for bible study, conferences and even my dad’s own storage space which he needed badly. I could not be more proud of my daddy. He made it all possible and deserves all the praise that is coming his way. Oh and he has a huge new office! Go Dad! Afterwards Kim and Mike’s restaurant Jackson’s sponsored a BBQ. We had Angus beef hotdogs, brats and pulled brisket with all the fixins. Kim and I served and Mike cooked on the biggest grill I have ever seen. I think we served 140 hotdogs, 100 brats and brisket for 120? Needless to say there were about 250 people there to support my dad and the new building. Except the Granny factor, I was able to spend quality time with mom and dad. We had some terrific dinners at home and out. We built a fire on the deck and visited. I went on a 2 hour walk every day and LOVED being outdoors and experiencing the beauty of Colorado. As you can see from some of the pictures, it is gorgeous! I also saw a badger, a herd a elk and their babies one night, many deer, and all the little critters that run around. Also One morning I followed a herd of elk from house to house watching them grab the Denver Post and rip open the bags and scatter/eat the paper. It was hilarious! I would love to live there someday. As I told Brian, even I forgot the hustle of city life. It was good for the soul to be there. My trip seemed to short.
The only thing that I was missing in that great state was my Bird. He did a great job caring for the kids and spider. The house was picked up and there were even groceries and clean sheets! He has been gone the last two nights at dinners but I am ready to get home tonight and do a whole lot of nuthin’!

Rest In Peace Apollo
Brian’s first dog Apollo went to heaven today. He lived 15 years. After a fun run at Texas Tech eating through walls, fences and attempting many homicides on ducks, squirrels and rabbits he returned to Brian’s family to live out the rest of his life. He was one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. He recognized me always as the girl who would play ball with him endlessly. He had quite a loud snore but I loved sneaking him in the bed with us when we came to visit. Brian told me as a child he always wanted a dog. I guess circumstances prevented this from ever happening until he was in high school. He told me when he was little he would think to himself “when I get a dog I will be good to him, he will sleep with me and he will be my best friend”. I know that Apollo fulfilled all the above. Even in the later part of his life when he was gray and slow he was a good companion and friend. Dogs never leave us. They help in the process of showing us kindness, humility, compassion and love. We will all miss Apollokins (as I used to call him) but he will forever be in our hearts. Love you ‘Pollo.
Weekend Update
I hope all you guys are proud of me….um well Brian for downloading some pictures I have had on my camera for a while now! We had a great weekend. Brian and Jarrod stained our fence. Jarrod has this really cool sprayer and it took less than 2 hours to do the inside and out. I did include a couple of funny shots of the boys. Brian called me Little Napoleon all day since I was supervising the spraying of the fence. Saturday night Brock Lesner fought some stupid arrogant dude on UFC. We had a few people over and watched Lesner kick the crap out of the other guy! There are some cute pics of the boys from Sat. night. Brian and I slept in till noon yesterday. We enjoyed waking up late, drinking coffee and watching The Soup. We then headed over to the mall and did a little shopping. Afterwards we both devoured spicy chopped beef sandwiches from Rudy’s. Yummy! We ended the night watching a few movies….sooo back to the real world today. I have a million things to do before leaving for my parents Thursday. Most important on the list is getting Brian stocked up on food so he won’t starve to death. He He.

Well I kinda have an excuse for not blogging in a few weeks. We had a our grand opening and it went very well. I was tired to say the least. I cleaned and cleaned and then had to do again the next day! I am glad to have it behind me and move on with the summer! I did attach a picture of the staff. BTW these are pictures either from my phone of that were emailed to me. I am still working on downloading any from my camera.
My mom phoned me last night and told that my aunt Tricia was robbed while she was at her other house at the beach. The stole literally all of her jewelry except her tennis bracelet and wedding band. She lost many precious things that can’t be replaced. Also they stole all of their guns and farming equipment such as 2 $700 chainsaws and other expensive equipment. They have a cattle ranch so you can imagine all the things that they lost. The funny thing is they are not on the beaten path by any means. So it was most likely someone that has not only been out there but also in their house. They think this because even the cleaning lady didn’t notice the missing items. Everything was in perfect condition inside the house. I feel terrible for them….I am just glad they were not home at the time!
I got blepharoplasty (better known as eyelid surgery) this past Thursday. Although I wanted my uppers done, Dr. Smart said he didn’t think I needed it yet. So we did my lowers. I took a herbal medication called Arnica Montana beforehand. It is supposed to help with bruising and trauma to anywhere on the body. Well I will tell you it really worked. I attached some lovely pictures to show you but I had no bruising at all! The procedure is to remove the bags under your eye and minimize wrinkles. My eyes are irritated today because of the lighting in the office I think but nothing I can’t handle. Hopefully I set the hands of time back a pinch for this ol’ face:)
The weekend was needless to say light in activity for me. He said no gym for at least 2 weeks (yea right). We watched tons of movies (including Transformers….ahhh), ate terribly and had a blast! Thank you my Bird for taking such good care of me…but hey you owed me one for the wisdom teeth :) Hope my week goes quickly as I hate to admit it but I am running at about 75% right now. Brian is gone tonight for a meeting so I will take some Tylenol and rest. Looking forward to seeing my parents on July 16th. I can’t wait for the cooler weather and hikes with my sister….and not the wussy kind either! Get ready Sweets!
