The Hough Christmas Party

We had a great Christmas party. Dinner was great. We had a good gift exchange. Robyn I am sorry that Brian took your robe and you ended up with a Texas Tech Gnome. I owe you a robe don't I? We apparently thought that the living room floor was a dance floor. When I crawled to bed the clock said 6am. I seriously picked it up and checked another clock b/c I was sure this one was off. Nope. It was so good to see Skyler again and of course all of my friends. Sunday was rough...All I could mutter to Brian while laying in bed was "Burrito!". He finally gave in and got me up at 2:30 with two Sonic burritos with extra japs. Then it was his turn to crash. I woke him up for dinner at 7:30. LOL. Back to the real world today. I am off from work Until Jan 5th and I am sooo looking forward to chillin at home. I probably won't write before 2009 so Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Clarification

I am sorry to scare you Amber!! Diana is a pink toe tarantula. I am not crazy enough to have a snake yet. You have to feed them mice and I could not bring myself to do that. A few crickets...not so bad.
Although I am sure the picture of me holding snakes might be confusing.

I am such a proud parent!

Just wanted everyone to know that Princess Diana aka "D" has completed her second molt successfully! She is sooo big and pretty. She shines pink and blue in the light.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Brian and I had a very laid back long weekend. I did get a Cajun fried turkey and cooked all his favorite side dishes. It was enough for 8 people but Bird managed to make a pretty good dent in it. We spent the rest of the day watching movies, drinking wine, and watching football. Jon joined us in the evening for while. We managed to run some much needed errands....I was out of eyelashes:) on Friday. Jon and Melinda joined us at Studio Movie Grill to watch Twilight. It was pretty good but the vampires had no fangs!

Saturday we took on something we had never done before....a garage sale! I told Brian that the customers would come early but he didn't understand until I saw two trucks parked in front of our house at 7am! We only had big items such as furniture, an elliptical, surround sound and tvs. We sold out completely by 10am! Let me tell you it was freezing cold in our garage. We pulled out a roll of leftover carpet and the dog beds and the dogs sat with us. I took a picture that I will try and post!

I have all my Christmas shopping done and shipped. I am so glad! Well I guess except for Brian but that is a breeze. Dr. Smart's x-mas party is Friday, Steven's birthday is the 13th and then we have ours on the 20th. I can't wait! For those of you who don't know the 5th Annual Hough Christmas party is always a blast. We eat at Terelli's and then go back to our house for desert, drinks and a gift exchange. It is good to bring everyone together one last time before the new year!

Bye for now!

Looking Forward To The Long Weekend

Well Saturday was a sad day for the Raiders. But they are still in a 3 way tie which is better than nothing. I hope OSU kicks the shit out of Oklahoma and that arrogant quarterback....figures he is from Churchill. Go Batch, Harrell, The Elf and Crabtree!!!

Brian and I got the new carpet upstairs we wanted. Although not much of the house , well upstairs is carpet, it took all day to finish. It makes me nervous having my furniture, dogs and life rearranged. I know some of you that know me well are just chuckling right now.....as Granny would say " I was in a real snit!" Our new furniture is being delivered tomorrow as well. I am excited!

Brian and I will be having Thanksgiving alone this year. Not complaining really. We don't have to get dressed or really do a damn thing all day. Ok ok correction. I will be cooking but that is fun to me. We will still have Brian's casserole dish, whipped sweet potatoes, dressing, a Cajun fried turkey, cranberry sauce and my pumpkin cheesecake. Brian has a lot to eat huh guys?

Jennifer and Andy are having a party sometime this weekend. I also want to gather my friends to go to Studio Movie Grill to see Twilight. You know I LOVE vampire movies!!!!

Hope everyone has wonderful turkey day!

Love, Jen

Home Improvement

As always we enjoyed a nice weekend with family. Brian and I also got a wild hair and decided it was time to re-do our guest bedrooms. We bought new furniture, mattresses and beds as well as new bed ensembles for them. We also will have some painting done soon. I have a carpet person coming today for an estimate for carpet upstairs. It really needed to be done anyhow and I am glad my parents will now be a lot more comfortable while visiting in December. We want to sell in a year so why not enjoy the upgrades while still in the house? I am thankful at this point that there is no carpet downstairs since Solomon is still on prednisone and is having a few pee pee accidents. Poor thing! We also are getting a new roof today. I just hate all that banging! Again it had to be done so I guess I can tough it out for one more day.

Today is my mom and Brian's sister Shelby's birthdays. Happy birthday girls! My parents just got back from a week at a bed and breakfast in Florida. The real reason they went though is that they received invitations to watch the space shuttle launch. They said everyone should do it once before they die. My dad was in heaven as you can imagine.

I have a botox party tonight. Ugh. At least I can get a little stuff done :) Looking forward to the weekend. Since Brian and I have our Christmas stuff up we have been in a very "lets drink wine, turn on the tree and watch movies" mode. We plan on doing this again this weekend...well of coarse we will be watching Texas Tech with our fingers crossed! GO TECH!!!

Cancun, Halloween and Weddings in the works!

Hello!
First I have to say congratulations to Steven and Susan who we engaged this past Friday! Also congrats to Chad and Kristan who are getting married this week!

I know it has been a while since I have written. We had a wonderful vacation. Although there were some unexpected things that happened, we had a blast! It was great to relax by the beach, eat Mexican food and dance the night away! We made life long memories. We are already planning our trip next year!

Before Halloween we were able to take a trip to Terrell, Texas to visit Thrillvania. I LOVE haunted houses so it was fun! We met up with Jennifer, Andy, Steven, Susan and Mike and had a chimichanga at Mi Cocina as well. Halloween was fun! Our friend Jason threw a party at the old Dallas Courthouse. It was followed my an afterparty at the Sheraton with Roger (DJ Haze) as our DJ.

This weekend we celebrated Kristen Payne's birthday. We met downtown at Joyce. There were tons of friends there and the music was good....Brandi came into town and we got to do a little shopping before getting ready. It was very nice to see her and catch up.

Brian and I got a wild hair Sunday afternoon and got out the X-mas decorations. Hey we don't care! We like to maximize our Christmas light time! :) We spent half the day looking for a tree...yes another tree. We had to buy a VERY tall ladder for this new tree and Brian and I finally finished decorating at 10 last night. I will put a pic on soon. He went up to the game room and was able to sit the topper right on top of the tree! LOL. Despite that our floor looks like a glittery yellow brick road, I am pleased. Thanks #3 for your help! (Jon)

Looking forward to the weekend. Still have to get the other tree in the formal done but compared to the other it will be a piece of cake :) Having friends over for the UFC fight and will possibly work on improving one of our guest bedrooms....if I can just talk Brian into having a few walls painted:)

GO TEXAS TECH RED RADIERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope all is well with you and yours.....Jenny

Update on the Hough's

Hi everyone. I am writing today because Dr. Smart is in surgery which is not normal for a Monday and I have a few minutes to catch up. Brian was gone all last week in Chicago. Since he has not been traveling as much, I really missed him. The only upside to Brian's absence is that I can watch Days of Our Lives and all the TV shows I want on A&E:) Brian arrived late Friday with the flu. Dr. Neumann gave him a shot and now he is on the road to recovery.

Our dear dear family friend David Vierling is in the hospital. He and his wife Paula visited my parents last week and shortly after he developed shortness of breath. He is an avid runner and in perfect health, however after a very painfull bout with the shortness of breath he was taken to the ER. They found clots in his lungs which came from one large clot in his leg. They are watching him closely and his family is in our prayers. He is restricted by the FAA for 6 months...no flying at all.

My mom has ironically been having the same shortness of breath for several weeks. The doc says her blood oxygen level is extremely high so she has more tests Friday.

My sis and Mike took an anniversary trip to Nappa (sp?)Valley last week as well. They sounded like they were having the time of their lives. Happy #1 Kim and Mike...

Our trip is drawing near and I am very excited. Brian and I will also be celebrating our anniversary October 25th while in Mexico. I got lots of new bathing suits etc and so I am ready to roll.

Brandi and her new puppy Riley are coming this weekend and I am looking forward to that. It is also Texas OU weekend so it should be rowdy! The bars will be packed with fans and it is always fun to people watch.

As always I am so grateful for all the blessings in my life. My Bird, family, dogs and friends.

Ta Ta,
Jenny

Someone ban me from Steak n Shake

Hello all. Let's see what has been going on in the Hough House? We went to Oktoberfest this weekend. April was nice to invite us. We met April, Bo, Robyn and Bryan. Kristin, Chad, Jon , April, Brian and I came together. We also met out Jen, Andy, Susan, Steven, and Walker. We had a great time and I enjoyed catching up with Jen. We then headed to Logan's for ol' times sake. Hey Brandi! I shook my boobs just for you! Then it happened.............we drove by Steak n Shake. Oh we kept driving but I asked Jon and Brian to drop me off at home and get me a turkey club! My stomach still hurts and the roof of my mouth does not feel much better.

I have decorated for Halloween already ....actually last weekend and I love it! Brian and went to Yankee and bought some festive candles so the house also smells like candy corn.

My aunt and uncle are still reeling from Hurricane Ike. Their vacation house is still standing but 90% of Crystal Beach is gone. They flew over the house on a friends plane the other day but can't tell what the damage is. Houston was hit hard as well. Brandi and her folks faired quite well. Ginger told me that they still did not have electricity. WOW!

My bf Brandi lost her precious dog Skylar about 3 months ago. It has been very hard for her as she is a single girl trying to make it in the world and Skylar was always there for her. Yesterday Brandi decided to get a puppy. Riley Renee. She is also a Wiemar but chocolate. She is adorable!!! I look forward to seeing my new niece and sharing all the good times ahead!

The Halloween costume search is now officially on! We are leaning towards a Gladiator theme but you know I am partial to the dark and twisted. Oh the thrill of the hunt! :)

Today is the first day of fall! Yipee. I am going to run outside tonight I think.
Love, Jen

Long Time No Talk

Hi there. Too much has been going on lately for me to blog. I wonder if anyone reads this anyway. Oh well. Brian celebrated his 31st birthday the 22nd. Brian and I spent most of his actual birthday together. We even had a chance to have lunch together which was special to me cause I never see him! I threw him a party that weekend. We had all our friends there...well at least the ones that count. We had a good time and of coarse watched the sunrise as is a tradition for Bird's birthday. Solomon apparently was jealous of the whole night because he kept pulling the table skirt of the dining room table. It was cute though.

Monday I left for a week to visit my parents, sister and Granny. Again, it was a wonderful trip. I treasure every moment I have with Granny. Even though she does not remember things like she used to, I still enjoy my time with her. If you are patient enough she can pull old memories and stories out. My dad's birthday was that Friday and just the four of us were able to go to dinner and walk around town. It was nice being with my family. I do miss them and now I am homesick. Oh Kim took me on a very long hike which I LOVED.....her not so much :)

For Labor day we met up with Roger, Susan, Cami , Steven and Jarrod. We bar hopped big time and finally decided on Dukes. The people were a little to biker like but they played good hip hop.

This past weekend was Brandi's birthday. We drove to Houston and had dinner with her family. They were nice enough to buy our dinner and hotel at the Hilton. We went out afterwards and met up with her friends from Houston as well as Kristin. Brandi is one of my best friends. She does a lot for me a Brian. She always comes up for our events so it was the least we could do. Brian and I had a lazy Sunday drinking wine and watching movies.

I think that about catches me up for now. Oktober Fest is coming on the 20th and we look forward to possibly going there. Mark's birthday is this weekend and we will go to dinner with him and Celeste. I hoping they decide on sushi:)

Cold weather come my way!

Hello all! Not much has happened since I last wrote you. It is hot as hell here in Dallas and I am looking forward to a little cooler weather in the near future...yes even Jenny Hough is tired of the sun and heat! Brian went to Sea Fair in Washington a couple of weekends ago. From what I hear they have neat air shows etc. He had a great time. I on the other hand had a terrible stomach virus all weekend but I am better now! I am planning Brian's birthday party that will be in a couple of weeks. We also are going to Houston for Brandi's birthday the following weekend. I am excited to get out of town for the night! My friend Cara's birthday is this Friday and I am looking forward to a girls night out. Please keep Solomon in your prayers. He has been throwing up quite a bit and we can't figure out what is wrong. We have taken him to the vet closest to us but since he has no improvement, we are calling out the big guns! That would be our #1vet Dr. Doolittle. It is a hike to her office but well worth it. Brian is taking him at 10:30 today. Better get back to work!

My Trip to Colorado and Brian's New Ride

I had a wonderful trip to Colorado this week. I left Friday night and arrived in Denver about 9. Kim and Mike picked me up and we went to eat and drink at Bar Louie. It was fun catching up and spending time with both of them. I don't see Mike as often as I would like to but I know he is a busy man! We headed to Estes Park the next day and dad had burgers on the grill and mom had baked beans in the oven. Granny was also there. We celebrated her 93rd birthday together. It was very nice. Over the next couple of days I was able to spend time with Granny which is very special and important to me. I have always been extremely close to her and I cherish every second I have with her. My parents and I were also able to have some much needed time together. We shopped downtown which was a blast. We also had a great Italian dinner one night followed by some my favorite Oregon Pinot Noir. I attended church at my dad's church. He did a very nice sermon and there was standing room only! I am very proud of him and the people love him....so do I! My mom and dad drove me back to Denver and Kim made chicken, potatoes and chocolate covered fruit for desert. Yum! So Mom, Dad and Kim thank you for an excellent visit!!

While I was gone Brian sold the Denali and got a new BMW 530I. It is pretty and fast! I can't wait till he goes out of town next weekend so I can drive it around town. I love the Volvo though..maybe we should race sometime:)

Looking forward to the weekend. We are meeting with friends tonight at Studio Movie Grill to see The Dark Knight. Not sure what is in store for the rest of the weekend...well except some pampering at Hollywood Nails and Spa....

Happy Friday!

Celebrating birthdays, friends and the 4th of July

We had a GREAT time this weekend. Mike's birthday was celebrated Thursday night downtown. The weather turned out to perfect and Mike seemed to have a blast. We met up with several friends including Robyn, Bryan, Mike, April, Mary, Jeff, and Jarrod.

Ok so we are lame too. Brian and I didn't miss a gym day the whole weekend! Wheww heww. The vodka was seeping out of my pores during my workout Friday but I stepped on .....(on the stair master that is).

Jarrod, Ricky, Bo, Brian and I went to Jeff and Mary's annual birthday/4th party. They played water volleyball and I watched....I know what a shocker. We then met up with Bryan and Robyn at our house for BBQ and drinks. Saturday we watched Nickel and Toby who are the most adorable miniature schnauzer's. R &B dropped them off in the morning and I can tell you that all 5 doggies were very tired by the end of the day. Brian and I went to see Hancock that evening. It was a awesome movie. It even kept my attention the whole time : )

B & I did a little mall shopping Sunday and after the gym, grilled shrimp and chicken and got caught up on some of the many DVR shows we have. The shows that continue to crack us up are Swingtown, Wipeout, The Soup, The Bachlorette, and our favorite American Gladiators. I LOVE THE WOLF!

I have to give a shout out to my mom who confronted a woman who was ugly to my dad this weekend. My dad had a flag shirt on for the 4th of July parade he puts together each year. The woman told my dad he was unpatriotic b/c of his shirt. That was her first mistake. The second was saying right in front of my mom. I know most all are biting their nails by now. She ripped the woman up and spit her out. GO MOM! I have no idea where I get my mild mannered temper from...hehe heheh. She just better be glad I wasn't there.

My sister also had her 10 year reunion in Estes Park this weekend. Kim and Mike's restaurant Jackson's Bar & Grill sponsored a dinner the first night and according to Kim she had the cutest shoes on of anyone...of coarse she did!!!

Bye bye for now.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Just logging in to say a quick hello. We had a very chill weekend. Brian and I hit the gym hard and then spent most of Sat. and Sunday by the pool. I enjoyed having some time to myself with him. Watched Spiderwick Chronicles and 10,000 B.C. Both were pretty good. This week is flying by for once. Looking forward to a long weekend. We are celebrating Mike Walker's birthday Thursday night downtown..uptown..whatever. Not sure the plan for the rest of the weekend but I am sure we will find something to get into. Also want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDI!! Brian's mom has a birthday on the 4th.

Happy 4th everyone!!!

Kim's Visit

What a great weekend I had! My sister Kim came to see me! We started off Thursday by getting pedicures. Then we grilled fajitas and had wine. Brian flew in that night and we enjoyed catching up. Kim gave me several special little gifts but also got me a new Coach bag! It is summer white and quite large for all my stuff! I absolutely love it!!!!

Friday we shopped a little and had lunch at Christina's. We also found time to lay by the pool for a while before getting ready for the night. We went to Blackfinn with Brandi, Kristen, Kareem, Steven, Susan and a few others. Of coarse we made our stop at Logan's before heading to Cafe Brazil for a LATE dinner. We had a blast!

Saturday we got real pool time in and Solomon swam with Kim for a while. Then we got dressed, went shopping and met Mike Walker for lunch at Gloria's. Kim got her chimichanga fix and we had some great margaritas! We went out that night to Chaucer's and then Sherlock's. Jarrod, Jon, Ricky, Andrew Krisha, Robyn, Bryan, Mike, Brandi, Tony etc joined us and we had so much fun! It is so nice to know I have good friends! I hate to admit it but we had Cafe Brazil again....love those pulled pork nachos! :0)

Sunday came way too fast. Brian, Kim and I cooked burgers and then got ready for their departure. Brian and Kim both flew out together yesterday afternoon. It was very lonely last night!

It was super to see Kim and just have sister time. I look forward to seeing her again next month when I take a trip to Estes Park.

Oh Kim just got selected for jury duty this morning! Bummer! Good luck with that Sweets!

I need a foot and neck transplant! :)

So the update on my foot is that I have 2 broken bones. Fun times! They told me no gym for 6 weeks. Yea right. I have this wonderful cast on it. I am going to have to go to the craft store and bling it out! This really cuts into my shopping time! I guess I will have to get a Hoverround. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Playing Catch Up!

I know I know I haven’t written in so long. The other day my sissy reminded me so here I am. To be honest I seem to not have time to write anymore. I also remind myself that if Amber, the gal who got me to blog in the first place, can do it than I should be able to. She has a full time job, husband and three small kids, I have to give a shout out to her!!

Brian and I have been doing great. Brian has not traveled quite as much in the past couple of weeks and that is so good for me. He and Jarrod have tackled some house projects such as a new light for the laundry room and installing a mister for the patio. I have to admit the mister is pretty cool. I also turn it on when the dogs are out sunning and they love it. We have seen several good movies lately such as the new Indiana Jones. We particularly like the Studio Movie Grill so that we can eat and drink.

My neck and shoulder are still giving me big problems. For those of you who don’t know the long and short of it is that I am falling apart limb by limb. I think I am so hard on my muscles and joints that they are giving out on me. I am in physical therapy now and it is going pretty good. I also had a MRI which revealed that the area in question has severe spasms and tightness. So I am laying off the weights and concentrating on cardio. Now I am having major issues which my left foot. So I will go to the podiatrist tomorrow for that. Enough of all that!

My sister is coming this Thursday and I am super excited. We plan on going to get pedicures, shop, eat and party! She has not been to visit since we lived in Flower Mound and I think before we got married. She is dying to see her nieces and nephew! :) I have a lot to get done before she gets here but only because I want everything to be just right…you know how I am about things like that! Brian flies out tomorrow for Vegas but will be back for the weekend.

Brian’s sister graduated from San Marcos High School the end if May. We are all very proud. Brian flew down for the weekend and said everything was very nice. It was also good for him to see his parents and granddad. From what I hear, she plans on going to college in the near future. Go Shelby!

We celebrated Robyn’s birthday the same weekend Brian was gone. It did give me an opportunity to have girl’s night. Cara, Robyn, April and I met up in Uptown and had a blast. It wouldn’t have been the same without a late night run to Taco Cabana! We don’t have one in our area of the world at all so it was quite a treat. I love me some Eggs Mexicana…ok ok and a bean burrito. Hey Amber I remember that you loved those back in the day! : )

My parents got a new puppy a couple of weeks ago. She is so cute and little. Her name is Kasey and it a relative to their other miniature schnauzer Abby. They have many funs times ahead but at least they can work out the kinks before the Colorado seasons change to cold. I look forward to meeting her on my trip in July to Estes Park.

I guess that sums it up. I hope everyone had a good weekend and will have a good week.

Don't Set That F*@%&!R for Five!!

Those were the last words my husband muttered before falling asleep last night. You see, I set the alarm sometimes for my 5am workout. So maybe I hit snooze a couple of times. What is the big deal? He CLAIMS to be awake from the time it first goes off...I disagree unless of coarse he has a rare disorder where he SNORES while awake! :) You know I love you Bird!!

Last weekend? Well we got off to a rough start but it ended up good. Bryan, Robyn, Jarrod, Bird and I went to dinner and then bowling. Ok get this, I bowled better than I ever have.... which is not saying much. There wasn't one round that I was up that I didn't hit most of the pins. I couldn't believe it! Brian found that simulated roller coaster machine ride and Robyn and I rode it a couple of times. It was so fun!! We soaked up the sun Sunday. We watched a couple of movies and mentally prepared ourselves for the ass whip of a week that we both have had.

So I am half way through and still above water. Brian and I are going to have a date tomorrow afternoon. We are shopping at Nordstroms, seeing a movie (the new Indiana Jones!!) and then having sushi. Ok so the week doesn't sound so bad now. I am looking forward to our long weekend. I am sure we will find something entertaining to do.

Until next time! Happy Memorial Day!!

Monday, May 12, 2008

We had another great weekend except for the fact that Robyn was sick all week and then Bryan was sick through the weekend. J, B and I went to see Ironman Friday night. They have been wanting to go...It was a good movie. Brandi came in Saturday night. It was so good to see her and we had a blast like we always do. We went down to Sting. This is a bar in Addison. It has a great patio with huge fire torches surrounded by water. They played our kind of music too! We met up with Steven, Susan, Roger etc. Our only mistake was stopping at Whataburger on the way home!

I enjoyed very much talking to my mom, Granny, and Grandma for Mother's Day. I had a super day as well. Soli got me some jeans, Hannah got me a pair too and Athena went all out and got the cropped Citizen's I wanted. Brian got me the new UA shoes I wanted! Better to walk the kids with miss Jenny! We had our coffee and eggs, crawled back in bed...all 5 of us...and watched the Indiana Jones movies. About 5 we got back up and cooked bacon wrapped shrimp, steak and chicken. We drank wine and watched a movie and then back to bed! I feel very very lucky to have such a great mom, granny and grandma and so lucky to have my little family. Brian is a pretty thoughtful husband....and he is cute too:)!!!

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

I am just bored today and so I will write whatever comes to mind. I saw The Golden Compass the other night...it was awesome. I really like There Will Be Blood as well. You really can't beat Daniel Day Lewis when it comes to actors except Ray Liotta :) !

Brian is gone for a business dinner tonight so I get to catch up on my 48 Hours Mystery and Dateline NBC. I also can't wait to see Jason voted off American Idol.

This past weekend was good and bad. Saturday was fun. We ate at Gloria's. Some people we knew through one person joined us. That didn't turn out as good as I hoped. Our side of the table was called "Kids R Us" ha ha. I took that as a big compliment and smiled. We made last call at Chaucer's (WTF????) and then back to our house again.

Jarrod was watching his brothers dog this weekend as well. Sunday we were in our backyard and the puppy got into something at the fence behind the bushes. It was rat poison! Long story short, our neighbor laid it out and put some under our fence as well as his own yard. I don't think it was malicious but VERY STUPID!!!!! J & B took the dog to the vet where it threw up 5 piles of blue poison. Let me assure you that when Brian walked over to confront the guy he didn't want any trouble. !!! Let me also assure you that if Athena Marie had gotten into it there would be missing posters for my poor neighbor.

Brandi is coming this weekend to see me! Yea! Since she has moved to Houston, I have missed her very much! I am sure we will find something fun to do!!

For all you mothers (that includes doggie mothers)....Have a good Mother's Day!! I wonder what the kids got me this year......

Bye Bye Bees!

Has anyone ever had a swarm of bees come visiting to your home? Well Monday afternoon I had about 30,000 unexpected house guests. Soon after arriving home from work, I fed the dogs and walked to our bathroom to change clothes. That's when I heard a very loud buzzing noise overhead. Was I in a scene from Amityville Horror? Bees were flying around my bathroom and accumulating around our large bathroom window. So I ran out and made a check of the rest of the house and the doggies. The dogs were fine and a few bees had made their way into the bedroom and study.

To make a long story shorter....exterminators can't kill bees. It is against the law to kill bees! So I called a beekeeper. The good news is that if bees are in the home, it is a sign that they have just arrived. The aproximate number of the little guys is 30,000. The bad news was they couldn't come till Tuesday to remove them. Another interesting fact is that if a swarm of bees arrives at your home, the bees probably escaped from a beekeeping facility!

I wish I had taken a picture of Brian and Jon...they were out in their black slacks and button up shirts with wasp spray. They were hitting the swarm site from the outside of the house. I have to admit Jon was quite a bit more brave that Bird.

The aftermath wasn't pretty. I collected about 45 bees from the bathroom and there were tons in the lights......but they are gone. Yea!!!

I am looking forward to the weekend. Brian returns from Las Vegas tonight late. We are having a party on the patio somewhere Sat. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. I am sure we will return to our house later in the night. I love nothing more than to be with friends and my Bird catching up and having fun!

I miss you Shampoo..... (Bird a.k.a. Brian)

Sorry it has taken me so long to write again. Last week was kinda hectic. So we have had a fabulous last couple of weeks. 2 weeks ago Auggie came to town. We went to Chaucer's and 610 Friday night. Saturday we had lunch at Celebrity Cafe and then went downtown for Susan's birthday. The place is called Thoth. Weird name but it was pretty cool. It was an Egyptian themed bar but the statues looked more like Athena Marie than anything. HE HE. We ended up getting bottle service (my bathroom attendant was much obliged) and we danced the night away....well April and I lost our balance once but besides that we had fun. I still have a very pretty bruise to show for it. I won't mention the car ride home....or where my bruise is either.

Brian left for Arizona all week. I missed him so much. I am glad I have the doggies for company. We retired early Friday night since we both got up before 5 am. Instead of Sunday Funday we held it Saturday at Gloria's. We all had tons of fun and went back to our house afterwards. April and I napped for a while but then got back up later in the evening :) Even ol' Bo Fields came over! Robyn and Bryan were there as well. Bryan has a wonderful idea for a t-shirt company....I will keep you all informed.

So it is back to the work week. Brian is slammed at work, with vendors in all week. That means he has dinner meetings as well. Hopefully Jon won't act like a TABC officer tonight. Hilarious!! If you don't know the story please feel free to ask him :)

Oh by the way! I got my teeth ZOOMed this past week. It was hands down the most painful thing I have done to date. Seriously, don't do it EVER!! I cried for 2 hours afterwards and still experience "zingers" every once in a while. You know I love me some white teeth but it was not worth it. I am also recovering from my first PIXEL treatment. This is skin resurfacing for the face. Although the end results must be good, I am not liking the alligator look. HA HA!!

Love you guys and I miss my homies in SA and COLORADO!!

Just a quick note to say praise the Lord they are off! :)

Jarrod's Party was a Success and the Best Sunday Funday Ever!

Hello all!
Jarrod's party was so fun. They had fun playing whirly ball and then we all had a blast at our house. Robyn and Bryan were able to make it after all and I was so happy! Even the cake I ordered was awesome. I am happy that Jarrod had a great birthday. The boys stayed up most of the night playing pool and being loud!!!

So the party didn't really end....Lawson talked us into lunch Sunday and well the rest is history. I ran into some ladies that I know from Gandy's office. Jon kept us quite entertained and our table for 4 slowly became a table for half the patio. We made some new friends and finally left way after dinner time. Jarrod and Kristin joined us for Campisi's and some UFC matches.

I am sunburned and tired, I think years have been taken off my life...but man is it great to have such wonderful friends and husband!

My dad is coming in Thursday night to spend the night and have some real mexican food. Then he is back in Estes Park Friday morning. I can't wait to see him.

Auggie the Italian is coming in this weekend. We have a motley crew going downtown this so it should be so fun!!!!

Talk to y'all soon!

PS: Jarrod thanks for the dog walks and Jon thanks for the plant!! :)

My The Week Is Dragging By!

I think the number one reason my week is going slowly is these damn rubber bands! I can't blame anyone but myself though! :)

The weekend was fun. Bryan had a good time at his 30th birthday Robyn did so good on the cake and decorations. With the exception of my continuously stepping on Robyn's foot while dancing, I think everyone had a good time.

Brian and I went to Lowes Sunday and bought some more plants and two huge pots for the walkway. They look pretty and complement the flowers in our flowerbeds.....I can't believe the rabbits have not already had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

My cousin Andrew is still in the hospital. My aunt gives me a update every other day. They hope to release him Thursday. My dad flies in April 7th to see Andrew, Tricia and my Grandma. I will get to see him Thursday night when he comes back through town. Hopefully we can grab some good Mexican food before he goes back. He has to get his fill while in Texas. Colorado's idea of a chulupa is a flour tortilla with lettuce and cheese...not cooked! :)

Hannah's birthday was 3/31 and Soli's 4/1. Yes they were actually born on two different days! My sister was so sweet to send them gourmet dog cookies! They were iced and included a letter from their cousin Baylor whom is my sisters mini aussie. I can't believe they are 8 years old! It seems like yesterday that they were born.

Looking forward to the Weekend! April's birthday (observed) will be celebrated Friday and then Jarrod's party will be Saturday.

Hope the week is bearable for everyone.

The end is near..but near enough!

So I went to see my favorite person, Dr. Gandy, yesterday. The good news is I get my braces off in 2 weeks!! The bad news is that I have to wear these rubber bands that literally zig zag through my whole mouth! I can't open my mouth at all. Now I know some are saying "This is the best news I have ever heard!" so for those of you....CAN IT! I look like my mouth is wired shut! Despite the pain and the embarrassment, I have to admit I look kinda funny. I can take them out to eat but it is HELL getting them in again. Don't worry folks. I have mastered the straw technique and can have my diet and Malibu just fine :)

I am looking forward to seeing all my friends this weekend at Bryan's party. Maybe I can suck his birthday cake through a straw too.....Happy Friday!!!!

Theenie Weenie Update

Well we were at the vet Tuesday and Wednesday trying to figure out what is going on with Athena. She is limping some and due to the fact that she blew other ACL 3 years ago, we figured this was true again just with the other back leg. According to the surgeon, her ACL appears to be fine. He is concerned with her hips and spine though. The only way to tell if there is an issue, is to to a MRI. He recommended that we watch her for the next week and then make a decision. He assured us that with her medication, she would not be in pain. That makes me feel a lot better. I love her so much and pray that she will be better soon.

My Cousin is back in the hospital. He is not recovering from his surgery....I don't know how much one person can take!

Easter Weekend

I was so glad to have Good Friday off! Brian was able to take the day off as well. After running errands, going to the gym and walking the kids, Jarrod, Brian, Kristin and I decided to go to dinner. We have a great time. I had to make a napkin cape b/c the patio was a little to cold for me and I forgot my jacket! We were pleasantly surprised that Kirk Mills and his cousin came over to see us. We had a blast! Kirk and I practiced our "San Antonio" dance moves and Kristen did her Texas Tech dance.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low key. We watched a couple of good flicks and talked to our families yesterday.

My cousin Andrew's luck has not improved. He had to have his appendix removed Sat. morning. He is still in the hospital but my aunt and uncle are taking good care of him. Keep him in your prayers.

Monday...uhhh back to the real world. Hope everyone had a good Easter!

Shout Out To All My Peeps!

My best friend Adrian came into town yesterday and it was quite unexpected. Her mother, who just moved here, fell and broke her femur. She has heart problems and so her operation was very serious. She made it through just fine but Adrian wanted to be here for her. She was able to stop by with her nephew Hunter and say hello. I miss seeing her. She lives now with her husband in Minnesota. Love ya Adrian!!

Looking forward to the next couple of weeks! I am excited to go to Bryan's birthday party next weekend. I made a good rap mix which includes Lupe, 2Pac, and Eazy!

Just finished working on Jarrod's birthday evite. It took me a while to compile the names etc but I got it done. We will go play whirly ball then go back to our house. Everyone that is coming better get ready! I can't wait to see what funny joke Kristen will play on Bird this time. She is one gal that gives Brian a run for his money. Hilarious!!

Well I am off work now so I am off to the gym....

Bored At Work

Hello! Dr. Smart and the rest of the crew are out of the office this week. So I have extra time to work on my ipod, read magazines and also blog. Brian was missed this weekend by me very much. I did have the chance to go out to eat with some friends Friday night. I even ran into Mike Walker. :) Saturday I spent time catching up on little things I have wanted to do around the house such as organize my closet and shoes, plant new flowers and laundry. Oh and I bought a Venus Flytrap! It is really cool. This one has 6 heads on it. I always have plenty of extra crickets because Princess Diana can't eat them all before they die. So my plant has currently eaten 4 crickets. I think I will call it Audrey...like in Little Shop of Horrors. HA HA! No Sunday Funday this week. I just spent time with Athena Marie in the yard since she can't go on any walks right now.

Please keep my cousin Andrew in your prayers. He is going through a rough time right now. Saturday he lost his puppy quite suddenly and tragically. Anyone who is a real dog lover knows just how he feels.

Have a super week and HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!

Taking a Sick Day When Your Really Sick?

My how times have changed. I am taking a sick day today because I am actually sick. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have some sort of virus. I am blessed with a terrible headache and sore throat. I guess the dogs even sensed it because they didn't wake me up to eat breakfast! If anyone knows Athena Marie, that is unheard of!
I am drinking coffee with the kids and watching my "stories". Even though I am under the weather, it is nice to just be here with nothing really to do. Brian left this morning at 4:45. I miss him already.

I tried the new Dunkin Donuts ground coffee this morning. It is pretty good but it isn't my Starbucks Italian Roast!

Stay safe and WELL!

Jenny

Our Weekend

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as we did! Brian and I went shopping Sat. He had to get new gear for his Cabo trip. We all went out that night to Loft 610 in Frisco. It is a swanky little place. We ran into some Tech friends too. Then we headed over to Chaucer's for some sake. They have good music and we had a blast. I especially like that Kristen knows all the words to rap songs...it cracks me up! :) The only mistake of the evening was going to Steak and Shake late night. Our waitress Melanie, who knows us by name and menu item, served us a stomach ache on a plate. We had Manny's for lunch yesterday....then it was nap time. Brian and I watched a great movie last night called Awake. It's a must see.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.....

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

I can't believe that it snowed again yesterday! It started around noon and continued into the night. The news reported that some areas of Dallas got 9 inches. I think we got about 3 inches. True to Texas weather, today is sunny and 55 degrees. All the snow is melting away...I think it will even be patio weather this weekend. Margarita anyone? :) Brian and I are looking forward to a fun weekend...hope yours is good too!

With Every Good Snow Comes A Good Movie

Yes folks, it really did snow here in Frisco Tuesday night! It even stuck until morning!! So Brian and I grabbed our blankets and settled in to watch some movies. Just wanted to let yall know that we saw 3 good ones.As I have already mentioned, 30 Days of Night is a great scary one (VAMPIRES!), Gone Baby Gone is a suspense(M&D skip this one) and The Game Plan is just fun. I have to say I liked the Game Plan b/c there is tons of Elvis music in it! So next time you are on your Netflix or at Blockbuster, check them out.

Athena is still limping a little and Solomon has not thrown up. Thank goodness. Hannah Lou is still acting like the middle child...poor Hannah :)

Have a great day!!!

Our Weekend

Only in Texas can it drop 30 degrees in one day! I am writing this as it continues to drop outside. We had a good weekend. I caught Brian while he was very hungry Friday afternoon and suggested we go eat at Kotta. Kotta is the best sushi in town. So we finished up at the gym and got ready. We enjoyed the food as always and retired to the house to watch 30 Days of Night. For anyone who likes SCARY vampire movies, this is the best one I have seen in a long time!!! I also had a chance to catch up with my BF Adrian. She is so far away now…way up in Minnesota!

My Granny as well as Brian's Nanny have been under the weather. Please keep them in your prayers.

Saturday I met my friend Jennifer for a pedicure. Then Jarrod, Kristen, Brian and I went to Manny’s Mexican Restaurant. I had a chimichanga (of coarse!) and it was so yummy!! They also have wonderful margaritas! Our Sunday Funday almost got rained out but we managed to grill out in between the downpours. We wrapped up the night with a movie.

Solomon was sick again last night. For those of you who don’t know, he has had some problems with his pancreas. So after a thorw-up episode, I held him the rest of the night. I guess it is back to the vet for him. Athena also played a little to hard at the park yesterday and is now favoring her left leg. GREAT! We keep Dr. Doolittle (Yes that is really her name) in business!

Hope everyone has a good week!

The Foot Caper is Finally Solved!

After much pain and suffering, I finally got Brian to go to the podiatrist yesterday. They concluded that he has a broken bone in his foot. Great! So he can't run for 6-8 weeks. I am glad though that we could be on the road to recovery. Also it is quite enjoyable to watch Brian and Jarrod on the elipticals. :)

Our weekend and Sunday Funday

The weekends go to fast! We hit the gym Friday and then watched a movie. Sat. night we had friends over. We listened to my new favorite Lupe Fiasco and the "Dirty 3.0". Of coarse we had a lot of fun! I even made Jarrod do push ups with me. Ha ha! We made many toasts to our trip to Playa Del Carmen (sp?) next October. I am so lucky to have such great friends and friends that will put up me after a few Kettle Ones and soda:) We were so good on Sunday and made it to the gym and also took the kids for a long walk. In the afternoon we made impressions of the dogs paws in concrete stones. My parents got the kits for me. Let me tell you how excited they were to participate! Jarrod, Brian and I ended the night with Campisi's pizza and vino. Yummy!

Brian travels to Denver Tuesday but returns Wednesday. I am glad that it will be a quick trip and Solomon and Hannah are glad that they get to sleep on Daddy's side that night!

I will add pictures one of these days. I am not computer savvy and I will need some assistance.

I am jumping on the Blogging Bandwagon

Hello to all family and friends!

My friend Amber sent me the blog she created for her family the other day. I enjoyed it so much I thought I would give it a try. While I still love to email and talk on the phone, sometimes time just gets away from me. So I will try to give you an update on the goings on with us.

Much love,
Jenny
